More than a meal
Food at NJ House in Tangalle is not a service added to your stay. It is part of how we welcome you.
Every dish carries the warmth of Sri Lankan family cooking.
Some ingredients come from our garden, others from trusted local hands nearby.
Everything is prepared with time, attention and care — so you can slow down, taste where you are, and feel truly looked after.

The heart in our kitchen
Hi, I’m Piyumi.
I don’t just cook — I care through food.
The recipes I make come from family, memory and everyday Sri Lankan life. The flavours come from the land around us, from fresh spices, seasonal ingredients and the simple joy of cooking for people.
I cook for people, not for plates.
I cook with my hands, but always from the heart — because food has a purpose: to nourish, to comfort, to connect.
Flavour deepens when someone is waiting for it. A meal becomes something real when it’s made with presence —
and love in the hands that prepare it.
I’d be honoured to cook for you — and make you feel cared for.

What a day can taste like
A gentle breakfast
Fresh fruit, warm roti, eggs, tea or coffee — simple, nourishing and made for slow mornings.
A Sri Lankan dinner
Rice, curries, sambols, spices and flavours that tell the story of the place you are in.
A sweet little ending
Sometimes it is chocolate. Sometimes ice cream. Sometimes just a quiet moment after dinner.
