Hello! I’m Nuwan, the heart and soul behind Nuwan’s Countryside Hideaway in Tangalle, Sri Lanka. My story begins with a simple yet powerful dream: to create a place where people from all over the world can experience the true beauty, warmth, and culture of Sri Lanka.

After years of working with world-renowned luxury resorts like One & Only and Anantara in the Seychelles, Dubai, and Sri Lanka, I learned what exceptional service truly means. I poured my heart into making every guest happy, and I’m proud to say that many of them became lifelong friends.

In 2023, I decided it was time to bring my dream to life – to create something truly unique, something more than just a place to stay. I envisioned a sanctuary where guests could escape the rush of everyday life, reconnect with nature, and experience the genuine warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality.

I wanted every detail to reflect my values: sustainability, family, and heartfelt service. That’s why I built a bamboo cabana – simple yet beautiful, nestled in the tranquility of Tangalle. Surrounded by my family, I worked tirelessly to create a space that feels like home, where every guest is treated not just as a visitor, but as a friend.

This dream became a reality in the fall of 2023, when we welcomed our first guests to what I now call Nuwans Countryside Hideaway. It wasn’t just a business for me; it was the culmination of years of learning, love, and passion. Seeing our guests laugh, relax, and immerse themselves in our culture made every effort worthwhile.
